President’s Founder’s Day Message

“Your Excellency Drs van Dijk, Mrs van Dijk, Members & Guests,

Today is the 98th Anniversary of Founder’s Day our day of remembrance of that great and simple man, Mr RG Anthonisz, who had the foresight to realize that unless our Community was united by an association of this nature we were in danger of losing our identity and place in the well-being of the country. Mr RG Anthonisz strove his utmost to uplift and keep the Community together, and it is therefore incumbent on us to show our appreciation of what he and those associated with him have done, by our service to the Union.

Let us press forward keeping the aims and objects of the Union always before us, united by a common· bond and be an example to the other communities in Sri Lanka.

Thank you Your Excellency and Mrs van Dijk for gracing this occasion and I would now like to invite Your Excellency to say a few words.”
